SBC believes that you can’t separate your faith from your career. Whether you are called to go into full-time ministry or a career in the marketplace, SBC will help you develop a solid Biblical foundation so that you can be confident in your faith.

YEAR
Pursuit is a four-month DTS (September to December) for young adults who desire to pursue God through travel, worship, discipleship, leadership experiences, community, and mission. Students can add an additional semester of courses and receive a one-year certificate.
1-2
YEARS
Pre-University pathways provide biblical foundations and worldview formation for university directed students. Graduates continue in university studies, vocational training, and/or serve in their communities and churches in diverse ways.

The B.A. Marketplace program is intended for students following God’s call to engage the world vocationally. The program equips servant leaders with biblical foundations, vocational training, faith-work integration, and practical work-ministry experience.

The Christian Leadership program is designed to extend the reach of mature students desiring biblical and ministry foundations for life. This flexible pathway of online education allows adult and distant students to retain ministry placements and jobs or complete unfinished programs.

Courses

Online Learning
Ministry, work, and family responsibilities are important and so is your education. SBC Online provides a Christian education designed with your values in mind. Train for Ministry and study the Bible at SBC Online.

Experiential Learning:
Going Beyond the Classroom
This mission is expressed as we practice our core values: the Bible is the foundation for learning, discipleship is the process of learning, community is the context of learning, and mission the purpose of learning.
Each semester our students step out into various ministries in the local community to serve through our Service Learning program. This practical hands-on learning deepens student understanding of what they are learning in the classroom.

In February of every year, students are exposed to the needs of people in a variety of cross-cultural settings. Our students consistently point to the MissionX program as being some of the most significant learning times of their college experience. MissionX is an important part of helping equip students for church ministry. This practical, hands-on, service opportunity challenges students with global needs both far and near, while also helping them discover their own particular giftedness and ministry interests.
Practicum offers supervised ministry experience, reading, and written reflection totalling 150 hours of ministry and reflection in the student’s area of interest.
An internship provides intensive supervised ministry experience, reading, and written reflection in the student’s major field of study, totalling over 600 hours. Internships may be one semester full-time or as much as two years part-time.
Mission X
SBC’s annual Mission X is a vital experiential component of what we are about at SBC. As such it has become a special signature of our desire to help students consistently integrate what they are learning at a practical, ministry level.
Partnerships
SBC is accredited by The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). A number of the courses we offer may be transferable to Canadian universities, depending on the program you enter.
Credit transfers with Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg allow SBC students a faster track to complete university degrees. Up to 60 SBC credits can be transferred directly into a CMU BA program in areas such as Pre-Education as well as majors in Humanities, Math, Social Sciences, and Music.
SBC students may take 15 credit hours at SBC and 15 credit hours at Providence University College (PUC) to complete a TESOL certificate from PUC. TESOL Canada requires a completed BA for Certification Level One. The BA requirements may be completed at SBC. The TESOL courses may be taken at PUC during the regular college year or as summer intensives. The SBC courses are taken at SBC during the regular college session. The goal is a completed certificate as awarded by PUC in April.
Associate of Arts Pre-University graduates can transfer up to 51 credits towards a Booth University College Bachelor of Social Work. SBC Graduates with a BA Degree can apply directly for the two year after degree / concentrated Bachelor of Social Work program at Booth UC.
Students transferring from SBC to PUC will follow the Associate of Arts Marketplace program (SBC) to transfer into the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration program (PUC) or Associate of Arts Pre-University program (SBC) and transfer into one of the following programs:
- Bachelor of Arts in Humanities
- Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
PUC students in the Bachelor of Theology degree may also select to take one of the SBC Minors (21 credit hours) for their degree track.
