Steinbach Community Foundation Supporting Tech at SBC

Steinbach Bible College, like most educational institutions, moved from the classroom to online teaching overnight. A considerable challenge in a world where technology is constantly evolving and advancing. However, SBC was able to take this challenge in stride.

This could not have happened without the Steinbach Community Foundation’s gift to enhance staff/student interaction and delivery of curriculum.

For the past 84-years, SBC has placed a great emphasis on being able to mentor and disciple our students. During the COVID-19 season, faculty were able to assist the students in finishing their year well with the virtual classroom and presentations.

As a smaller college SBC has a distinct advantage over larger public universities, being able to transition smoothly from the physical classroom to the virtual one while still facilitating personal interaction with students.

“The new laptops have enabled faculty to more easily transition from an in-class setting to an online setting. The laptops are more powerful with a better camera. This has helped in providing a better experience for not only the faculty, but the student as well. Thank you!” – Rob Reimer (D.Min.), President of SBC

It is SBC’s financial supporters, like the Steinbach Community Foundation, that make having a thriving accredited Bible College available to not only Steinbach and area residents, but also global students, possible. “Connecting with students through technology has been a huge part of creating community, made especially important through moving to an online setting. Having the ability to focus on the student rather than the challenges of under-performing technology is a tremendous blessing. These laptops have been helpful in allowing us to better connect with students. Thanks!” – Randy Krahn, Pursuit Director/ Community Life Director
