“Will the pain and uneasiness ever end?” – A four-part conversation on finding hope when conflict leaves you reeling.
When: March 14, 21, 28, April 4 – 7:00 pm
Where: Steinbach Bible College Chapel
In this time of great global turmoil, many have found that their greatest struggle is not global turmoil, but rather something much closer, much more personal. Concerns about the state of our world are sometimes eclipsed by personal hurts, especially ones that have come from those closest to us. We recognize that now, more than ever, many are struggling with hurts from family, friends, church communities, and church leaders. It might be things that have been said, decisions made, priorities set – many things can lead to such personal pain.
It is important for us to realize that we are not intended to live in such a place. How do we begin to move past pain, and even heal from it?
Recognizing that to move from hurt to healing is part of God’s desire for us; Steinbach Bible College, in cooperation with several local Steinbach area churches, is pleased to present a four-evening conversation on church and/or family hurt and healing. Over the course of these evening sessions, we will talk about appropriate expectations among Christians, reasons for hurt, God’s perspective, “blindspots vs. being blindsided”, the right way to hold convictions, and some tools to help us move in the right direction.
These conversations will be led by Terry Kaufman (SBC faculty, church leader, and experienced pastor), and Garth Friesen (SBC faculty and ministry mentor). We encourage you to consider joining us for this time that we trust will help us all move toward hope, healing, and relational health.
Cost is $35/person for the four nights. This will be offered in the SBC chapel.
Session #1 (March 14) – “Great Expectations” – Why we are so often disappointed and hurt? (Led by Terry Kaufman)
Session #2 (March 21) – “Blindsided or Blindspots” – What do we see when we look at others and how does this perspective shape our personal attitude? (Led by Garth Friesen)
Session #3 (March 28) – “Winsome Convictions – Picking the Hills and Cherishing the Valleys” – Considerations on how to navigate life and relationships in the midst of differences (Led by Terry Kaufman)
Session #4 (April 4) – “Steps to Move Past the Hurt” – What can you be doing? (Led by Garth Friesen and Terry Kaufman)
*We plan to record the teaching portions only, and those may be available in the future to help churches. Due to the nature of this discussion, there will be no livestream.
