Why SBC?
1. Clear Focus
At SBC, the Bible is the foundation for learning. Whether you are studying to become a missionary or going into the workforce, biblical teaching is integrated into the material to develop a worldview consistent with God’s revelation in His Word. Our goal is to let Christ shape our life values, spirit, relationships, and skills.
2. Christ-centered Community
Small class sizes allow for personal attention from our faculty who take the time to build into students lives not just academically, but relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. Living and studying in Christ-centered community helps students grow in faith and character through prayer, encouragement, accountability, worship, and spiritual conversations as part of everyday culture at SBC.
3. Our Mission
We want to launch students into careers and vocations that will saturate our communities and churches with hope, mercy, and the peace of Jesus. The world needs servants and leaders who can confidently integrate their faith with the challenges of life in today’s world.

Evelena
SBC Graduate, '23
"I have been pleasantly surprised again and again by the support and encouragement and accountability that I have found in so many people living in a Spirit-filled environment. It truly is the most uplifting environment that I have ever encountered."

Jeremy
SBC Graduate, '22
"I wasn't sure how it would go, as I was a little older then most of the people...My mind was changed the first day that I was in dorm. Sitting down and talking with different people, I knew that I had made friends that would last a lifetime."
Grace
SBC Graduate, '22
"When I first came, never having stepped a foot on campus in my life, the community welcomed me warmly. I felt accepted and knew that I belonged here. Care Groups were an incredible opportunity to be part of student life at SBC and the practical application encouraged throughout my classes was transformational."

Dima
SBC Graduate, '23
"At SBC, I found the real purpose for myself. The purpose that is bigger than running away from uncertainties and looking for a better life. It is the purpose of living the life that glorifies Christ."
Jesse
SBC Graduate, '23
"As I've returned as an older student, my posture towards my time here has really transformed. Abstract ideas suddenly have concrete purpose. Courses and assignments feel less like hurdles to clear along the way to other goals, but more like tools that can be used in real and practical ways as a servant leader and community member."

April
SBC Graduate, '22
"I was positively surprised by my time at SBC by the number of people who opened their arms to me when I walked through the doors. It was amazing to see how fast of a family this community becomes at the beginning of the year."
Melia
SBC Graduate, '22
"Almost all of my highlights (at SBC) have to do with moments spent with friends. I have learned how to go past the surface level of friendships, and talk about things that really matter."

Mckenna
SBC Graduate, '22
"I had thought of myself as a humble person of faith, but it wasn't until being an SBC student that I realized what humility truly was. I realized that true humility means sharing those struggles and admitting my need for help, but also humbling myself in order to serve others first."

SBC Offers So Much More!
"I have met some awesome people at SBC who have shaped me and inspire me to follow God and love people. I am not the same person that I was before SBC, and I hope to continually grow in my faith and commitment to God."

Life on Life Mentoring
The professors at SBC go beyond the call of duty to provide a meaningful experience for you, both in and out of the classroom. Their passion for God and the Church is evident and they have a genuine concern for the well-being of each student. Faculty welcome students to drop by their offices and regularly open their homes to students.
Faculty Care
Our primary goal at SBC is for you to develop a more meaningful walk with Jesus Christ and to develop His heart for people. This journey happens in the context of a vibrant and caring community. Each student is part of a Ministry Formation Group (MFG) that meets weekly and is led by a Faculty member. Each semester, Care Groups visit Faculty homes for some great informal mentoring times.
Student Belonging
Student relationships and strong community are vital to the well-rounded learning environment at SBC. This community is built through Ministry Formation Groups (MFG), daily chapel times, retreats designed to strengthen spiritual development, care group participation and relaxing and laughing together in some of our cozy lounges.
Chapel
SBC chapels promote and nurture the spiritual vitality of the college community through inspirational times of remembrance and reflection, celebration and praise, and confession and lament. Chapel attendance is expected of all students as part of their spiritual development, and community connection - commuters are expected to attend on days they have classes.
