Arlene Friesen, MTS

Professor, Registrar

Arlene Friesen teaches Bible courses, primarily New Testament, and serves as Registrar at Steinbach Bible College.

All my life I’ve been involved in pastoral and worship ministry, and since moving to Winnipeg, have also developed my mission interest through immigrant and refugee ministry. These passions connect to my desire to be a true disciple. Discipleship can be defined as “learning to live my life like Jesus would live it if he were me.” This explains why I’m so energized by passing on stories and teachings from Jesus’ life, as well as his New Testament interpreters (Paul, Peter, James, John, Jude). In classes, we are always looking for applications to our personal lives and to ministry. Seeing students take greater steps in obedience, maturity and ministry is one of my great joys. Bringing them to Winnipeg and serving with them in ministries that care for the underprivileged and newcomers is another reason why I love my job!
