INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS
For International Student applicants applying from outside Canada or the USA
Admissions Standards
SBC’s mission is to empower servant leaders to follow Jesus, serve the Church, and engage the world.
Applicants should be graduates from an accredited high school or have equivalent standing. International students should submit official transcripts of all previous education. A limited number of mature students who have not completed high school may be accepted. The college reserves the right to stipulate what preliminary entrance tests are required.
Application Deadline
International students should complete their application to SBC early – 6 months before start date in September. Study permit and full tuition/fees must be in by August 1 for a September start.

Next Steps
- Study Permit ** – Apply to Canadian Immigration and Citizenship for a Study Permit. Approved Study Permit must be submitted no later than August 1 for a September start.
- Payment – Full tuition and fees for semester 1 must be paid by August 1, along with approved Study Permit. Any refunds will be deposited directly to the bank that issued the payment, minus 5%.
- Register – Class registration will occur as soon as you submit your study permit. It is best to do so in July-early August in order to receive your textbooks on time. You will receive further instructions when you submit your study permit.
- Medical Insurance – After you register for classes, we will purchase International student medical insurance for you through Guard.Me. You will need to choose the insurance coverage start and end dates in the registration form we will send you. The cost of this coverage is approximately $1.65 per day per person (so a stay of 365 days would cost $602.25) per person.
The school year runs from September to April. There are no classes in the summer.
