Crossview Church is seeking a full-time or part-time Worship Director who will provide leadership and oversight to the worship and music ministries of the church

The Worship Director works collaboratively with church staff and volunteers to help achieve the Vision and Mission of Crossview Church through providing leadership and oversight to the worship and music ministries of the church.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Church Culture - The Worship Director actively models the Crossview Church culture; beginning in their own personal life and spreading through the staff and volunteer teams in which they function.

Vision & Strategy - In collaboration with the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor, the Worship Director develops a long-term strategy to ensure worship and music are incorporated into weekend worship services and other events as required; this strategy needs to align with the Crossview Church Vision, Mission and Values and shall be reviewed and updated annually.

Leadership - The Worship Director provides ongoing leadership to all worship and music aspects of Crossview Church including training and developing worship ministry staff and volunteers and overseeing the coordination of worship volunteer schedules. As the leader of a Crossview ministry area, the Worship Director works to create a sense of community and connection among the volunteers in the worship ministry. The Worship Director participates in staff meetings, representing the worship ministry perspective and contributing to a broad range of discussions regarding Crossview culture and activities.

Leadership Development - The Worship Director recruits, trains, motivates and develops volunteers; mentoring them using intentional strategies which promote both worship leadership skills and spiritual growth and maturity.

Personal Development - The Worship Director pursues growth as a follower of Jesus and as an effective leader of people.

Budget - In collaboration with the Executive Pastor, the Worship Director develops an annual budget and manage within the approved budget to wisely utilize church resources and maximize ministry opportunities.

Reporting to the Executive Pastor, the performance of the Worship Director is evaluated against the above identified responsibilities and annually defined objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • As a Crossview Church leader, the Worship Director’s life needs to demonstrate wisdom, and integrity in family, church and community life; successful and healthy relationships characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
  • Agree with the Statement of Faith as set out in the Crossview Church Constitution.
  • A member of, or willing to become a member of Crossview Church.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: clear verbal and written form communication that consistently places high value on healthy relationships.
  • Education in Music and/or Worship Arts is considered an asset.
  • Previous leadership experience in a music-related position is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated record of effective teamwork in both participant and leadership roles
  • Organizational and time management skills and ability to delegate effectively.

  • Clear criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector check) and Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks.
