Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church is currently seeking a Summer Outreach Coordinator.

This 8 week term position is available for a young adult (under the age of 30) who would like to gain experience and mentorship working in a church environment. This individual will work alongside of appropriate staff to identify needs in our community and brainstorm, plan, and execute opportunities for the church to respond. This individual will also help lead a week of evening children's programming in August.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Brainstorming. The Summer Outreach Coordinator will network with local non-profits to better understand Winkler's needs and work with staff to envision creative responses to those needs.
  • Planning and Promotion. The Summer Events Coordinator will plan plan outreach initiatives, including location, schedules, programming, and budgeting, and promote those initiatives to the church and community.
  • Execution. The Summer Events Coordinator will collaborate with appropriate staff to determine what roles you will oversee and lead during outreach initiatives and events. They will also be prepared and present for initiatives and events.
  • Administration. The Summer Outreach Coordinator will utilize Microsoft Office and Breeze Church Management database software in the planning and implementing processes.

  • Tech Savvy. Familiarity with a PC and Microsoft Office, along with basic technology usage skills.
  • Record Check. Able to provide a clean Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check.

Other Requirements:
This term position is being partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible for employment you must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment, and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
