Travel to Morocco

Yesterday, on February 21st, we had another travel day as we launched our journey to Morocco. We awoke rather early and were at the Algeciras Port shortly after 9:00. By 10:30 we boarded a bus to Tarifa, and from Tarifa we boarded a Ferry to Tangier, in Morocco.
The ferry ride was interesting, and a bit of a challenge to walk around on without stumbling due to the waves. Having left for Morocco at 12:00 Spanish time, we arrived at 12:00 Moroccan time. We travelled to the train station in Tangier and had a two hour long high speed train ride through the beautiful Moroccan countryside. We arrived in Casablanca at 3:15.
After some long debates amongst taxi drivers, we figured out how to get to our apartments, and the ride there was very different from most car rides I’ve ever been in, as no one used turn signals, and instead preferred to honk, speed, and weave through traffic.
We settled into our very nice apartments around 4:15, and in the evening went out for dinner at a place called “Oasis Cafe.” above a gas station! The food was very good and there were even cats wandering around the restaurant (cats are everywhere in Morocco).
We finished off the day with some debrief and prayer in groups. Overall it was a nice day of mostly travel and settling into our new home for the next few days.
