Journey to Ceuta

On Friday, we left for Ceuta, a tiny Spanish territory on the northern tip of Morocco. It was a forty-five minute high speed ferry from the port of Algeciras. During that time, I was reminded as I viewed the waves, the mountains, the high winds, that if they roar His greatness, bow in reverence, and go where He has sent them, I to will do the same.
Our team, along with a group from Algeciras, arrived in Ceuta and came across our host Martin. He is a cheerful man who has a heart for the people he is serving within the region, and his wife Lina, who is on fire for God, and is open to reveal the truth of the Gospel of Christ with anyone she encounters.
During orientation, we heard their passion for serving the North Africans, and also migrants from other parts of Africa who are also trying to enter Europe. One of Martin's passions as a Pastor is teaching English and Spanish. During these moments he has the opportunity to show his students the love of Christ, and the life and teachings of Jesus.
Later that day we went down to the beach to hand out tea and biscuits to anyone who walked by. I personally didn’t know what to expect. But a group of local kids saw us, played their music with their boombox, and surprisingly we played soccer with them. At the same time, we were inviting many people to have tea, which they gladly accepted. While drinking their tea, they listened to Momma Lina share about God, Christ, and what she came to do. She knows English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Some of us have been feeling sick, so pray for healing as we continue to be exposed to what God’s been doing in Ceuta. Continual wisdom and guidance for each day, and strength and rest for what each day brings. Sleep is a critical part helping us have energy for the day, and some of us have been struggling to sleep well. We appreciate your prayers during this time.
