Beach Day in Tarifa

On Thursday we had the opportunity to visit the city of Tarifa. We first had the adventure of finding parking as the streets were packed. We made a few loops around until we were able to wedge ourselves between a few cars only 10 minutes from the beach. After meeting together, we walked down to the old city of Tarifa where we saw multiple fort walls and even toured a castle that was founded by Alonso Perez de Guzman in the 1200’s.
After visiting the castle most of us got to go swimming, some of us for the first time in the ocean. We first swam in the Atlantic side where there were many large waves with strong undertow. Then we went to the Mediterranean side where it was much calmer. The water was quite frigid but we all would say it was a moment worth experiencing. After swimming we ate lunch at a restaurant right on the beach where we were served a variety of fish along side burgers, tomatoes and yummy bread!
In the evening our group went to Renacer church and participated in a youth event, we sang, prayed, shared testimonies, and played a game called “mi silla mi silla”. Some of the girls at this youth group are now with us in Ceuta. By the end of the day, we had made some good connections but were very tired, it was a good but long day.
Prayer Items: Continue to pray for spiritual strength as we are currently spending time in Ceuta and Morocco. Pray for those still struggling with sickness, that there would be healing and renewed energy.
