Getting Our Hands Dirty

Hola from Espana. On Tuesday February 18, we started the day by going through the last session of Friendship First, which is the course we have been going through that teaches us how we can build relationships and share the gospel with the people we will meet in Northern Africa. After we completed the session, we walked to an outdoor market located just outside the local bull fighting arena. There were all sorts of interesting items for sale ranging from fruits and candies to pots and pans to scarves or handbags. Once we had seen enough at the market, a couple of us walked to the local mall and had authentic Spanish Burger King for lunch.
After lunch we headed to Renacer church to help with some projects that they were hoping to complete. The group was divided up and given various tasks like sanding the rust off of the window grates or starting to repaint one of the rooms upstairs. Cole and I (Payton) were told to go with Antonio to the new prospective building for the EMC Training Center. It is an old brick building that is in need of a lot of work, but it also holds a lot of potential. Cole and I were able to pray over the building, and Antonio and Esther as they try to discern God’s leading in this process. We then went with Antonio to the hardware store to pick up supplies for the new building before heading back to the church for supper.
After supper I had the opportunity to work with one of the young men from the church to try and fix some sound issues they had been having. We were able to figure out some of the issues, but others remained unresolved. We had a quick debrief as a group and then we headed our separate ways for the night.
Prayer requests:

Prayer requests:
- Energy as we continue working in Spain.
- That we may be an encouragement to the people at the church.
- Unity as a group as we continue to serve in Spain.
