MX3 Blog #2 – Jet Lag And Jesus

By: Bridger Dyck

After two travel nights and two full days in our first city, I’m impressed with how well the group is doing. Jet lag is present, the time spent travelling went really well, and the entire team got into a routine and managed to sleep a bit on the planes. There were times when I bemoaned my height (6’7″) but it has proved to be more of an advantage as I can quickly tell if everyone is with us, and if they are not then I can see exactly how far behind us in the crowd they are.

The food has been amazing so far! Breakfast seems to be the meal the group is the most excited for, as there are cheeses, salads, and yogurt, with many options for toppings. We’ve been able to see how God has been at work in the local believers, having been led around the local area and taught some of the history, culture, and customs of the city.

One of the more interesting things we’ve seen is how Bibles are used. Many cousins have used the Bible as a moral book, which is much more acceptable to their beliefs and aligns with the Quran. This often will bring them to faith because they will see the truth withing the Bible and then become more curious about Jesus. It’s been handed out by workers when people ask why they are doing services and helping the people, and has encouraged some to explore more and join their services.

We’re all super excited to see where the rest of our journey brings us, and what we’ll be able to learn and experience as we continue to grow in energy and confidence!
