FINANCING MY EDUCATION

Here are a few ideas to tackle the finance side of your Bible College education. While not all tips will apply to you, hopefully you can find a few nuggets of wisdom to act on.

Tax savings can “pay” for over 29% of your tuition costs.

You could find savings of over $3,000 by claiming all eligible tax credits!

Student loans are a great way to help you pay for your post-secondary education. For many students, it makes all the difference between money saved for school and the cost of actually going to school.

Students are automatically considered for this program when they submit their application for Canada and Manitoba Student Loans. Indigenous learners who self-identify may be eligible for additional Manitoba Bursary.

A Canada Student Grant is money you receive to pay for college or university that you don’t have to pay back. It is essentially “free money”.

Estimate your Student Financial Assistance.

Canada Student Grants are available to students from most provinces and territories except those from the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Quebec. These governments have their own student financial assistance programs.

If you qualify for a Canada Student Loan, you are automatically assessed for most Canada Student Grants, with the exception of the Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities, which requires a separate application. You may be eligible to receive more than one grant.

Discover all the available Canada Student Grants including for Part-Time Students.

Educational Assistance Payments (EAPs) from a government approved RESP can help a beneficiary student finance the cost of their post-secondary education.

Read this RESP Fact Sheet for more information.

The Business Council of Manitoba is committed to helping Aboriginal students attend university or community college.

If you are of Aboriginal ancestry you are eligible to apply for a Business Council of Manitoba Aboriginal Education Award.
