Why Attend Bible College?

1. Learn to know the Bible – many of us go to Sunday school when we're young and know many of the stories, but do we know how they are all connected? How does the Old Testament connect with the New Testament? Perhaps more important, how does it relate to my life?

2. Train for Ministry - if you are interested in part-time or full-time ministry, many organizations prefer that you have at least a year or more of Bible College. It stretches you and challenges you and shapes you as it prepares you for the life of a "missionary" whether here at home or overseas.

3. Become More Effective as a Christian - many people think Bible College is simply a training school for pastors and missionaries. God has called each of us to be a "missionary" whether we have a career here in Steinbach or if we go overseas to help AIDS victims in Africa. Bible College challenges your everyday walk with Christ and opens your eyes to ways you can be a light to everyone around you.

4. Make Lasting Friendships - A Bible College community is made up of real people with real needs and struggles. But as you walk alongside one another and work through your faith and struggles in a community like that, bonds grow that often last a lifetime. They are a lot stronger and deeper than just your average friendships.

5. Be Grounded in Your Faith - a large percentage of high school graduates who claim to be Christians and go to a secular college or university do not go to church by the time they are 21 years old. Bible College helps you become more solid in your faith. Bible College is a safe place to struggle through faith issues, ask questions, be challenged in your thinking and learn how to better reach the world around you.

6. Make a lasting investment - Do you desire to be more involved with your church? Do you desire to make an eternal impact in your local community or beyond?

Ultimately, students leave SBC changed. They have developed a deeper understanding of how the world needs to be reached for Jesus Christ and they have the desire and resources to impact people in their ministries and careers.

What Is Dorm Life Like?

Living in dorm (or residence) is a unique experience for single, full-time students. Though students learn a lot in the classrooms, living in dorm will teach them about life, about relationships and about how to live with people who have different personalities. The personal growth that students experience in dorm is well worth the investment. Read more about dorm life.

Do I Have To Live In The College Residence?

If you are a single student, it is strongly recommended that you live in the college residence for at least your first year at SBC. Full-time first year students under the age of 21 not planning to live at home need to apply to the Student Development department for approval to live out of residence. All resident students are to be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.

Our dorms provide students with the amazing opportunity to experience life together with other students also committed to deepening their walk with God. The dorm community offers students a unique opportunity to develop lasting friendships. Dorm students are provided delicious, nourishing meals planned and prepared by our Food Services under the guidance of our professional Chef.

All this makes college dorm an unforgettable experience. Although classroom learning is important, the life lessons you learn while living in the residence are just as important!
