B.A. Youth Ministry

Course Requirements (128 credit hours)

Professor Garth FriesenDo you have a heart for youth and the opportunities and challenges they face? The Youth major will help you develop both a compassion for teenagers and the skills necessary to effectively minister to them within church and parachurch ministries.

Program Objectives:

In addition to the Program Objectives of the BA degree, the following objectives apply to students choosing the Youth Major:

  • Show an understanding of youth ministry from a biblical perspective.
  • Be able to articulate a personal philosophy of youth ministry.
  • Demonstrate the necessary skills to perform the responsibilities of a youth pastor or volunteer youth sponsor.
  • Show knowledge of how to minister within a changing youth culture.
  • Discern mentoring and discipling opportunities within Youth Ministries in either a church or Para church situation.

General Studies (36 credit hours)

Ministry Studies (12 credit hours)

Youth Ministry Major (30 credit hours)

Open Electives (8 credit hours)
