B.A. Pastoral Ministry

Course Requirements (128 credit hours)

Professor Dave ReimerIf you have a heart to lead others, consider the pastoral major. You will take courses in Pastoral Theology, Counselling and Homiletics. These will develop the skills you need to pastor in a church or to serve in a parachurch organization, as well as the foundation to proceed into a Masters program if you so choose.

Program Objectives:

In addition to the Program Objectives of the BA degree, the following objectives apply to students choosing the Pastoral Major:

  • Give evidence of the personal quality of character necessary for effective pastoral ministry.
  • Be aware of personal spiritual gifts, strengths, and weaknesses, particularly as they relate to pastoral ministry.
  • Understand the principles and practices necessary for effective pastoral leadership in a local church.
  • Have a personal philosophy of pastoral ministry based on an evangelical-Anabaptist theology of the church.
  • Have the skills necessary to teach and preach the Bible effectively.

Course Requirements:

Biblical and Theological Studies (42 credit hours)

General Studies (36 credit hours)

Ministry Studies (12 credit hours)

Pastoral Ministry Major (30 credit hours)  

Open Electives (8 credit hours)

Field Education (5 Units)
