Since 1987 we have resided in Chilliwack BC where Bill continues his work for Avant Ministries, first as recruitor and since retiring, as an Ambassador. That takes him to places as far east as Alberta, Saskatchewan & Northern BC and yes, even Alaska. We served in SE Alaska for 30 years as church planters. In 2000 Bill was diagnosed with cancer but with radiation has been cancer free. He's a very healthy 76 yr old; bikes most days & plays 'Slow Pitch' soft ball in summer when he's home. Dot was diagnosed with Kidney Disease 4 yrs ago, but with proper diet has been able to maintain fuction @ 30%. In our retirement, Bill continues serving the Mission and when @ home (together with Dot), is responsible for a weekly Bible Study/Prayer/Care group, organizes programs for "55+" in our church and does a monthly service for one of the Assisted Living Homes in the area. Dot has a weekly Ladies Bible Study. We became GG parents 4 weeks ago! A beautiful baby girl named Maliya Emma Moir. She is Darlene's, daughter's first baby.

Dan and Gladys Wolfe

All is going relatively well at the Wolfe residence. Gladys has to measure her energy output since the aneurysm last July. She sings from time to time. We took the afternoon service at MSA Manner on the 4th of Feb and take the service at Menno Hospital on the 11th. We rejoice in His goodness. I have begun selling pre-paid funeral services. Since Abbotsford is the last stop before heaven I try to make the transition smooth. Anyone holidaying this way, do stop by and have a coffee or whatever. 604-853-8778

Marianne Wiebe

I am Marianne's niece, Juanita Dueck (my mother is Janice). Marianne passed away May 8, 2004 after suffering from a bout of chemically induced pneumonia. This was due to the fact that she was diagnosed in the fall of 2003 with breast cancer. She fought hard, lost her hair in the process and still kept her smile and her faith. She was doing well in spite of the toll that the chemotherapy took on her. She developed pneumonia in late April, was admitted to hospital on April 24 and gradually became incapable of breathing on her own. She was surrounded by her children and her husband, Ike, as well as several nieces, one sister and brother, singing "Soon and Very Soon" as she entered the kingdom of heaven. We miss her much but know we'll see her again soon.

Dave K. and Helen Schellenberg (nee: Reimer)

Helen and I were married on Apr.21, 1940. In 1946, with already two children, I felt led to attend Steinbach Bible School. After graduation we went out into mission work in Saskatchewan. By this time we had four children. In 1952 we came back to Steinbach and the next year, 1953, we lived at Steeprock Bay (Mafeking) MB, where I was employed as store clerk and missionary. In 1954 I accepted the job of administrator at the Mennonite Invalid Home in Steinbach. After about three years here I became the field man for the Western Gospel Mission. In 1959 we started a church planting assignment at Portage la Prairie for the EMC. In 1963 I became the editor of the newly founded EMC Messenger. In 1965 after about a year in Winnipeg where I took classes at MBBC, we moved back to Steinbach. In 1987 I retired from the EMC Board of Education and Publication where I was employed, which included editor of the Messenger, after having been editor for 25 years. Since 1995 we have been living in Woodhaven Manor in Steinbach. We are thankful to the Lord for His constant care over us.
